DJ Starman loves music, people and the feeling of making an event come alive. What began as a fun way to turn one of his passions into meaningful work has become an opportunity to entertain, contribute, build confidence, meet new people and create memorable moments through music. DJ Starman has Down syndrome. It’s part of who he is — but it is not what defines him. Music With a Purpose
Community is at the heart of DJ Starman.
A big part of DJ Starman’s work is supporting nonprofits, inclusive programs, fundraisers and community events. Sometimes that means performing at a fundraiser. Sometimes it means helping an organization celebrate the people it serves. And sometimes it simply means donating his time and music to a cause that matters. These are some of his favorite events because music has a wonderful way of making people feel welcome, connected and part of something bigger.
The Story Behind the Stars
It starts with family and a whole lot of love. When you are passionate about something, pursue it and work hard at it. Share it with people. That simple idea is how DJ Starman began. Music has always been one of DJ Starman's passions. Becoming DJ Starman gave him an opportunity to turn that passion into something he could proudly call his own. For our family, the goal was never simply to create a DJ business. It was to create opportunity: meaningful work, responsibility, confidence, friendships and a way for him to contribute to his community. Somewhere along the way, DJ Starman became bigger than we expected. There have been parties, nonprofit events, new friendships, lots of dancing and a whole lot of great music.
